booking a boating holiday for 2022

These are unclear times, so we understand that it is exciting to book in advance. We want you to have a good time and if it is not possible at the fixed time because of Corona we will move the holiday!

Our branch organisation HiswaRecron prescribes that giving a voucher or money back is not an obligation for the lessor.

As long as the lessor has a boat at his disposal, there is no obligation to return the hire price and/or the voucher.

As a gesture of goodwill, we will give a Corona voucher valid until 2023 under certain conditions.

Free rebooking or a voucher if:
Having Corona Virus
Having to be tested for Corona Virus
If you or one of your travel companions has to go into quarantine
Lock down or negative travel advice

*The new conditions for bookings from 1 August 2021 are that a tenant can rebook his trip once without any costs being charged.

* Should it be the case that the trip cannot be made a second time because of Corona, then the tenant may rebook the trip, free of charge, but subject to the condition that it is a last-minute booking that can be made no more than 10 days in advance.

why renting a boat is the solution for a holiday during corona?

The boats have their own refrigerator and kitchen, if you want to avoid the supermarkets as much as possible, there is enough space on board for a few days eating.

All boats have a shower and toilet, you are not dependent on shared toilet buildings.

Would you prefer to spend your boating holiday in seclusion? The recreation board Marrekrite has a large list of free mooring locations, often located in the middle of nature. On the website of marrekrite.frl you can find several mooring locations (on the map in the left menu).

You do not have to worry about the 1.5 meters distance, in addition you can use a boat to isolate you as much as you wish.

If you want to escape this chaos for a while, it is one of the best and nicest solutions within the limitations.

our measures in a row:

In order to comply as fully as possible with the rule of the government and the Hiswa, we have taken a set of measures.

downstream measures

On arrival we ask you to have 1 person report to reception. The rest stays in the car. This to avoid crowds on the jetties. This way we can abide by the rules of the RIVM.

We will keep the sailing instruction as short as possible. We also ask you to carefully study the contract and the on-board book in advance, this will be sent to you with the information letter which you will receive by e-mail before departure. This saves a lot of explanation at the desk.

We will inform you when you can bring your luggage in to the boat. We ask you to leave the port as soon as possible, so that the other customers can sail away as well.

Also during the explanation of the boat we keep a distance of 1.5 meters.

Port site and jetties:

- Friesland Boating provides the most important walking routes on the port site with
a compulsory walking direction, such as from the car park to the jetties and
to the reception.
By determining walking directions, contact between guests is avoided.

  • The jetties in a marina deserve extra attention in keeping a distance of 1.5 metres. There it is extra necessary to give others space. Guests who want to leave the jetty have priority. The other guest will turn around to a point where 1.5 metres distance can be kept.
  • Friesland Boating has a number of places on the grounds where guests and staff can clean their hands.

Reception:

  • Guests are invited by means of newsletters and our own website
to come alone to the reception and only if necessary.
  • We try to reach our guests as much as possible by mail and phone.
  • The number of guests at the reception is set at a maximum of 1 guest per 10 m2 of floor space.
  • By means of tape, the compulsory waiting places are indicated for the counter in the office.
  • The maximum number of visitors will be published on the outside of the harbour office by means of an announcement.
  • Keep an eye on how many people are in the office. If there are already 2 inside, please wait until 1 gets out.
  • Guests are requested to make the payment digitally and remotely. When this is not possible, payments from guests in the harbour office are made on a Pin basis.

Sanitary facilities:

  • Friesland Boating applies a compulsory walking direction for the entrance and exit of a sanitary facility (toilet).
  • Waiting places are marked by tape on the ground, or other signs.
  • The sanitary facilities are cleaned more often. Friesland Boating uses a sign-off list for the cleaning rounds carried out.
  • The maximum number of guests allowed access to a sanitary facility shall be indicated on the outside of the facility.

Boat rental:

  • Bookings are made as much as possible in advance, including payment.
  • If a payment is made at the company, this will only be done without contact or with PIN.
  • Friesland Boating prescribes to our guests that also in the boat 1.5 meters rule is observed.
  • At the boot instructing, also the 1.5 meter rule apply.

Coronavirus: common sense is the best vaccine
Coronavirus has a major impact on our society. But let's keep a cool head and help each other where we can. This is the only way we can prevent an even bigger crisis.
Despite the entire Corona Virus time, we still want to let you relax and enjoy on one of our boats.
You will wake up from the water birds, in the middle of the peace and quiet of the Frisian nature!
We hope you come back completely relaxed and rested!

A boating holiday Friesland to remember!

Time for vacation?

Yeah! Let's get out of here.

Frequently asked questions

Is there any explanation on the ship?

As long as the corona measures are in force, we will only give instruction on the ship with appropriate distance. Only the main driver will be present on the ship. Fellow crew members will have to stay in the car for the time being.

I'd like to book a boating holiday, but I'm in doubt:

Would you like to book a boat, but you have doubts about the whole situation? We have a "Coronavirus cancellation" of 5% for you. You pay 5% of the rental price for the cancellation. You can also opt for a voucher (this is without the Coronavirus cancellation). This is then the amount of your deposit. The voucher is valid until the end of 2024.

Can I cancel my trip because of the Corona virus?

As long as you are not infected yourself, or there is a suspicion that you are infected with the Corona virus, there is no reason to cancel the trip you booked with Friesland Boating . If you belong to the risk group because of other diseases, you should take your travel plans into consideration and we advise you to avoid contact with larger groups during your stay on board. Think of ports and supermarkets.

If you do wish to cancel because of the Corona virus, you will receive a voucher for the amount paid. You can also move your holiday to another date. We ask you to cancel at least one month in advance.

Will I get my money back when the borders are closed? (Lockdown)

You will receive a voucher for the amount you have already paid. With this voucher you can choose a new period/another ship if you wish. The voucher is valid until the end of 2024.
