Enjoying Frieslands aqueducts for a midweek

Sailing through the southwestern part of the Frisian lakes has become even more attractive. The construction of five aqueducts gives the water sportsman plenty of room to manoeuvre: instead of waiting for bridges, it's now time to move on!
Anyone taking part in Stavoreninland navigation will feel free in the open landscape. At the Galamadammen this is no longer interrupted by the busy bridge. The aqueduct fits seamlessly into the landscape. With on one side the Koudumer forest and on the other side the lake, the variation in flora and fauna here Morrais great. The aqueduct therefore has special passageways for both land and water animals.

The best route for your children! In a weekend or mid-week!

This route is named after the mill of the village of Terherne: the Wouda monkey. The village of Hielke and Sietse Klinkhamer. This is where the famous children's book series 'de Kameleon' comes to life.

Playing in Langweer
Na Terherne the route goes in the direction of Langweer. Its central location makes it an ideal base for sailing trips. The new harbour office and recreation building make the marina even more attractive. There is even a roof to enjoy a barbecue and children's play equipment has been installed at the renovated beach. From Langweer you can also make beautiful cycling and hiking trips with the family.

Discover Woudsend and Heeg
Op naar Woudsend. The passer-by spaces in the centre of the village have been improved. It'll make it easier to get ashore. Visit the Jager sawmill or take a look at the SKS skûtsje, the pride of Woudsend. After Woudsend the route leads to Heeg. You can easily moor here in the centre for an ice cream on one of the many terraces. Another tip: The best way to discover the centre of Heeg with your children is by canoe!

On the way to Sneek you'll come across one of the smallest Frisian 11 cities; IJlst. Take the children on a trip with the milkman or take a look at the local clockmaker. Further through the green land comes Sneek in sight.
Here, too, there is plenty to do with children. The Model Railway Museum and the Frisian Maritime Museum are highly recommended. In addition, the renovated day recreation area De Potten is an ideal place, with a real water playground for the little ones.
